Lotties Poppies Wallhanging
So many people tell me that they are afraid to put all that work into embroidering designs for a quilt only to have it quilted and hate it. So this wall hanging has been quilted first to take the fear out of finishing your embroidered quilt project.
Use prequilted fabric or maybe jump in and try just stippling your own, not that adventurous, how about crosshatching with your quilting guide. The quilting guide comes with most machines. You can do it !!

Using the picture as a map layout your template magic printable sheets for Lottie’s Poppies, and basket template to get positioning on pre-quilted fabric.
Hoop magic in your hoop using a floater of tearaway magic, embroider out designs
Print out template for basket onto web magic, then iron to back side of fabric , cutting basket out on the lines. Iron in place on pre-quilted fabric that has been embroidered , blanket stitch outer edge. Place template magic 2P template over basket use Hoop magic in the hoop and a floater of tearaway magic , stitch out design 2P.
Trim embroidered wallhanging to 39” x 18” measure in 1½” draw a line top, bottom and both sides this is placement line to sew your Trim 11 on.
Embroider aprox. 120” of Simons Terrific trims – Trim 11. Using dissolve magic in the hoop with a layer of Organza. Cut out with heat cutting tool then sew in place using marked line as your quide.
Cut backing fabric to 39”x18” with right sides together sew backing to embroidered wallhanging leaving a space to turn it inside out. Handsew opening.
Press with iron then sew on trim to outside edge as in picture.
NOTE: A Floater is a piece of tearaway stabilizer that is placed under the hoop for added stabilizer. When you start to stitch or when you baste it will hold it in place. This can be done anytime you notice your embroidery starting to pucker. At the beginning , middle or end of any embroidery project.
